You are more likely to become sick with typhoid fever in developing areas. Studies show that over the past 10 years, developing parts of Africa, Asia and Latin America put you at risk the most. Industrialized countries that usually have very low counts of this typhoid include the United States, Japan, Canada and Australia. Many areas in western Europe are also almost free of this disease.
